ALL LINES FILING PROCEDURE CHANGES

The Vermont Department of Banking and Insurance has begun instituting a computerized filing index system. This system will expedite filings and generate a number of reports to assist the Department in managing approximately 7,000 filings a year.

The system may be used in the future by Insurer or public market research projects, but it is not available for this purpose at this time.

In order to assist us Insurer and others making filings are required to provide us with their EIGHT digit NAIC code number in the caption on all filing transmittal letters . For insurers the code number is located on the first page of your company’s annual statement.

For Service or Advisory organizations we have established the following code numbers:

99999993 - National Council on Compensation Insurance

99999994 - Surety Association of America

99999995 - Crop - Hail

99999996 - Factory Mutual Service Bureau

99999997 - Insurance Services Office

99999998 - American Assoc. of Insurance Services

Additional information can be obtained by writing or calling Thomas F. Prindiville, Vermont Department of Banking and Insurance, 120 State Street, Montpelier, Vermont 05602 or by calling (802) 828-3301.
